Scope and content

Copy of typed letter to Deputy William Norton, Chairman, Committee of Investigation, The Labour Party, from James Larkin JNR. Having attended the meeting of the Committee investigating alleged communist activity in the Labour Party this letter is for the purpose of record. He empathically declares he is not a member of the Communist Party and was not one for some years prior to joining the Labour Party. Would welcome the opportunity to confront his accusers. If accusers refuse to accept his challenge the Committee can appreciate their worth, i.e., “concoctions based on rumours”.
