Correspondence regarding Glencree up to the departure of the last Oblate priests. The turf-cutting operation comes to an end, but the Provincial agrees to Archbishop’s request for Fr. E. Doherty to remain to provide chaplaincy for expected 200 Polish refugee children and Irish Sisters of Charity. Arrangements are made to transfer Glencree church to the Dublin diocese. Vincentian Superior and Irish Red Cross Society add to the complexity of the situation, especially when Polis enterprise is obstructed by Communist government. Instead 100 German children, followed by some French. Archbishop’s plan to add a Polish Oblate at Glencree falls through; Oblate Provincial increasingly unhappy. Finally Fr.
