Scope and content

  • Correspondence between +Levame and +McQuaid in relation to 1 February 1956 the building of a House for Workmen in Rome. The Secretariat of State has informed him that this House will be build by donations from the faithful throughout the world. +McQuaid replies that he will do all he can to assist in this project and he too is currently seeking alms for the repairs to Holy Cross College which will cost £124,000 as well as having a building programme for both schools and churches. He feels that Ireland will not let the Holy Father down as the faithful have always been more than generous.
