Scope and content
Typed report on ‘Peace’ meeting held in the Hibernian Hotel, 15 December 1958. Meeting well attended – most from Communist Party, the USSR Society, the Quakers and people from Trinity College. Writer spoke, saying that if women were allowed to make decisions on Peace and War there would be fewer wars. Said Russia was ahead in the arms’ race. If members of Russian organisations at meeting were sincere perhaps they could use their influence with their Russian contacts “to see this race destruction ended.”
