Letter from H.M. McKernan to Fr. Mangan informing him that the number of meals being served in the Matt Talbot Food Centre has reduced from 370 meals per day in 1948 to about 50-60 now. It emerged that Communism is infiltrating into Government circles there, there is difficulty in getting Catholic schooling and that only highly skilled workers were sure of employment.
