St. Anne's Retreat, Lancs. PHOTO glossy print of St Anne's Retreat, Sutton Oak, St Helen's, Lancs., taken looking East, showing kitchen wing. The 1973 new church is sited on the left of the picture, joined by a corridor which runs from it to the window-space on the ground floor just to the left of the white greenhouse. This item has also been entered in the photographic archive under the same serial number. It is entered here so that the above description can be recorded, which would not have been possible in photographic archove.

Archival documents are catalogued in the following way : Shelf number, box number, file number and item number. Thus, 45/1/1/4 means shelf forty-five, box one, file one and item four. In addition to this each item has an individual serial number. This is attached to the catalogue as an alternative identifier.
