Handwritten letter to + McQuaid from Dr. Joseph Rodgers, Bishop of Killaloe. A Miss Marie [Solen] informed Dr. Rodgers that the Bishop of Limerick had approved of the Limerick Catholic Social Study group holding a conference. Asks if Dr. Rogers would approve of Shannon Airport as the venue and he approved. There was no mention of the panel of speakers and he assumed that it had been submitted to the Bishop of Limerick. The first intimation of their names was in the Press. Is deeply grateful to + McQuaid for his timely note of warning.

Typed report on the visit of Dr. Sziecko with Fr. James Ardle MacMahon. Dr. Sziecko is a Director of International Pharmaceuticals Limited. He complained he is being discriminated against in two areas of business. The first was in regard to building a factory at Shannon the second is about getting tenders for a Pharmaceutical business he has set up in Dublin. His company sells Pharmaceuticals at the cheapest rate but he has often been deprived of tenders. He also stated that some people have said that he is a Communist. Asked why he came to Archbishop House he said he was looking for justice. He was told something might be able to be done regarding the Communist charge.
