Letter from +Duhig to +McQuaid thanking him for all the hospitality shown to the pilgrims during their visit to Ireland. He discusses the connection between Queensland and Ireland and mentions the caliber of the men in positions of power. He also discusses the problem with the seminaries and the issue of Rome only offering places in Propaganda to native priests. He mentions issues with Mgr. Panico’s bishops, three of whom have already resigned. He is celebrating his Golden Jubilee at the end of the year and would like to receive an honorary degree from the National University. The reason for this is it would strengthen the church’s role in education if they had a link with a home university. He also mentions the Celtic Studies department and states Dr. Ludwig Mulhausen has been suggested as a suitable candidate for the Chair.
