Handwritten letter to + McQuaid from Dr. Mageean, Belfast, thanking him for his timely intervention. Dr. Newman informed him that he had been invited by the Association of International Reconstruction and the Irish Pacifist Movement to speak on the subject of Church-State problems. Dr. Mageean had no objection. Dr. Newman did not tell him who the prime mover was, but the name would have meant little to him. Is grateful for the action the Archbishop has taken.
