He was only in Ireland for about six weeks so it is difficult to understand how he organised support. Fr. Tuohy to make enquiries. Brannigan held a meeting in the Mansion House, attendance 80 achieved nothing. It was suggested that the ‘liberals’ seem to have easy access to Radio Eireann. Director, Mr. Gorham, a stranger. How did he contact ‘liberals’? Who are the civil servants in charge?
