He has also been invited to assist at a wedding in University Church and seeks permission for both events. He mentions the pilgrimage to the Holy Land and the Emigrants’ Easter week congress. Correspondence between General Richard Mulcahy and +McQuaid relating to the School Hall being used as a cinema in the De La Salle School, Ballyfermot. Brother Thomas stated that the school hall was used for school and parochial purposes during the day, and was used as a cinema seven nights a week. The debt on the school was £70,000 and the proceeds from the cinema enabled them to pay the interest. The capital was being brought down from the salaries of the teachers in the school.
