Letter from ill. to + McQuaid informing him that M. Morgan, a late vocation, wishes to become a priest to serve in Paris. His file does not contain a reference from a priest in Ireland.

Note to +McQuaid stating that Fr. Morgan Crowe called to say that everything went well with the Saturday mass at which prayers were said for Sir Winston Churchill. The British Ambassador and about 40-50 others attended. Mgr. Cassidy represented the Nuncio. Note in +McQuaid’s hand refers to the attendance of Mgr. Cassidy stating ‘After he had said the Nuncio would not be involved!’

It is not therefore a public mass for the deceased statesman but an opportunity for Catholics to pray for him.
