Letter from Fr. Joseph Fenelon OFM Cap. to Fr. Peter Bowe OFM Cap., Provincial Minister, regarding a request to transfer Fr. Albert’s remains to Ireland once he has passed away. Father Fenelon writes ‘An Irish representation approached me last night, when we had a Dance and Entertainment in the Auditorium, about the transfer of poor Albert’s remains to Ireland, should he die. He is growing weaker each day, and the end can’t be very far off now. They say they will defray the whole expenses. They said it is Albert’s wish. Personally, I consider it a very unwise policy; for they could do a great deal for him in the shape of Masses and a Monument in Santa Ynez. Perhaps before this will reach you, I will be cabling his death, and asking what is to be done. In case he lives so long kindly let me know your instructions’.
