Hourigan, the Guardian of the Carrick Conwent: the bishop sheuld pow grant Fr. Hourigan the required faculties. Asks L. for his opinion on the best way of bringing the dispute to a conclusion. Congratulates him en his election to the Ses of Cashel; refers te the eppesition to Dr. t. during the last two years; there has been some dispute in the parish of Ballinahinch over some houses which are nearer to Boher Church in the parish of Ballina, and other houses nearer to Birdhill, in the parish of Newport, but are cut off for six months of the year owing to the river.

Details of the mesting of the Bishops of the Munster Province held in Fermoy 6 May and following days; among the regulations is an injunction to the Parisb Priest to keep Baptismal and Marriage Registers, under pain of suspensior;: clergy forbidden to attend Station dinners, to be present at public horse races, publie balls etc. Dr. Michael Slattery has added a note to the effect that these Provincial Regulations were never fully promulgated in the Cashel diocese. L. te fr. Prendergast, P.p. Gives a decision an the boundary dispute between the parishez of Ballingarry and Gurtnahoe, and sets aside as unfounded the claims of fr. Meighan; Fr. Prendergast as P.P. Ballingarry, has jurisdiction ever the area in question. (Dr. Laffan signed this letter two days befere he died)

Fr. Mokncree was originally belonging to the Cashel diocese, but was granted an exeat during the inter-regnum in 1622; as a Vicar-Capitular cannot grant a definitive exeat, Fr. MoEncree was never fully released from Cashelk/ altheugh Dr. t. is his request to return is quite legal, reluctant to let him go; testifies to Fr. Mctnereets good character and zeal. Dr. Laffan has added a note giving text of original 'exest' grsnted by him (L.) en 13 July 1922.
