Letter from Mgr. Cassidy to +McQuaid stating that the Holy Father has accepted the resignation of Most Reverend Dr. Thomas Keogh from the See of Kildare and Leighlin. He has appointed Dr. Patrick Lennon as the new Bishop. Both resignation and appointment will be announced on Monday, 25th September.

The letter was written by Peadar O’Donnell to four students. The report explains how the letter came into the possession of the Gardaí. Garda inquiries give some details on the students.

Conway, Marion, Eaglehill Ho., Suncroft, Curragh, Co. Kildare. She is complaining that Fr. Whelan interfered with her recently deceased brother, who did not want to make a will. She accused the priest, a solicitor and doctor of fraudulently writing a will which defrauded herself, her nieces and nephew of their rights. She asks the Archbishop to have this will undone immediately.
