Typed letter to +McQuaid from Hugh S. Roberton, Australian Ambassador, seeking permission to ask Mgr. Cassidy to say a prayer at an inter-denominational service to commemorate ANZAC Day.
Letter from Mgr. Cassidy to +McQuaid stating that +Sensi has been appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Portugal. His successor in Ireland will be Most Reverend Joseph McGeough who is the current Nuncio to South Africa. He also enclosed a copy of the information being sent to the Press.
Letter from John to Ardle stating that Mgr. Cassidy does not know when the Nuncio is due in Ireland. He only left South Africa for Rome the previous day and will not be contactable for a week. The Mgr. suggests the 14 October as a suitable date but thinks they should await further instructions before beginning any preparations. He will however provisionally book the Gresham for 5pm on the 14 October.
Letter from Mgr. Edward Cassidy to Mgr. John O’Regan, stating that a Benemerenti Medal has been conferred on John Reid. The tax due on this is £12.
