Handwritten letter to Fr. McKernan from Desmond W. McCarthy, Cork St., Dublin, reporting on Philip Cairns and Alderman Hickey. Cairns converted out of conviction in 1921, is a zealous Catholic Action worker, secretary of the Postal Workers’ Union and member of the Labour Party. Puts his Catholicism first. Hickey is an excellent Catholic and a director of the Catholic Standard.
