The British Ambassador and about 40-50 others attended. Mgr. Cassidy represented the Nuncio. Note in +McQuaid’s hand refers to the attendance of Mgr. Cassidy stating ‘After he had said the Nuncio would not be involved!’

Morgan Crowe, 87 St. Stephen’s Green, arranging for prayers to be said for the repose of the soul of Sir Winston Churchill at the usual 10am mass on Saturday. It is not therefore a public mass for the deceased statesman but an opportunity for Catholics to pray for him.
