The new Lord Abbot, Rt. Rev. Stanislaus Hickey is shown second from left'.

A postcard view of Ashford Castle (referred to as 'Ashford House, Cong') situated on the Galway-Mayo border. The original caption refers to the purchase of the castle by Sir Benjamin Lee Guinness (1798-1868) in 1852. Reference is also made to the extensive renovation work carried out by Arthur Guinness, 1st Baron Ardilaun (1840-1915).

‘The Fair Host of the Books of Erin’

A draft article titled ‘The Fair Host of the Books of Erin’ by Fr. Richard Henebry. A letter from Eoin Henebry to Fr. Senan Moynihan OFM Cap. refers to this manuscript which he suggests has already been published. (27 Aug. 1924). Evidently, Eoin Henebry gave this manuscript to Fr. Senan. (See CA CP/3/3/1/15).

Notes on Fr. Richard Henebry’s Life

Research notes compiled by Fr. Senan Moynihan OFM Cap. re the life of Fr. Richard Henebry. The file includes two small notebooks containing headings for a biographical treatment of Henebry’s life. One of the manuscripts is titled ‘Brogue’ and refers to ‘Celtic scholarship’ and the ‘dialect of English spoken in Ireland, or Anglo-Irish is usually called the “brogue”. The text is signed by Fr. Senan and is dated 21 Sept. 1924.
