The file comprises the following: an undated first edition of 'Freedom' containing an ‘extract from a letter from Rory O’Connor’ regarding the attack on the Free Courts; 17 Sept. 1922 (no edition number) with a portrait of Lawrence Ginnell by Constance Markievicz; 24 Sept. 1922 (No. 7) with a drawing of the ‘the branded arm of James O’Reilly sketched from life’ by Constance Markievicz; 22 Oct. 1922 (No. 11), 3 copies; Dec. 1922.
Expenditure and receipt book for Father Mathew Hall, Church Street. The first two pages of the volume contain a ‘History of Fr. Mathew Hall’ copied from an earlier ledger (see CA HA/1/3/8). An entry on page 6 refers to the order of the Hall Committee for the discontinuation of the showing of motion pictures (Oct. 1937). Expenditure is listed under the headings of details, cash and cheques. Receipts are listed under details, cash and lodgements. The entries for expenditure include figures for rents, rates and taxes, salaries, utilities and the purchase of various sundries. The receipts include monies accruing from the sales of tickets and the use of the billiards room.
Letters to Fr. Benedict Cullen OFM Cap. from Gaffney Halligan & Co., solicitors, Artane Roundabout, Dublin 5, requesting information to enable the purchase of the freehold interest in 128 Church Street, and 1, 1A and 6 Nicholas Avenue, Dublin 7. The solicitors note that the Capuchin friars did not appear to ‘own the freehold of the above properties, as their title appears to be leasehold held under a lease from Samuel Worthington who in turn held his interest from the Merchant Tailors’ School’.

Copy correspondence of Fr. Melchor a Benisa OFM Cap., Fr. Clement Neubauer OFM Cap., and Fr. Paschal Rywalski OFM Cap., General Ministers, to Fr. James O’Mahony OFM Cap., Fr. Conrad O’Donovan OFM Cap., and Fr. Berard Creed OFM Cap., Provincial Ministers, re the status of the Irish Capuchin missions in Africa. Reference is made to the request made by Bishop John Colburn Garner, Vicar Apostolic of Pretoria, seeking more priests to work in South Africa (see CA AMI/1/6/7). Fr. James O’Mahony OFM Cap. wrote: ‘We felt that this arrangement with Bishop Garner will lead to an expansion of our work in South Africa’ (21 Dec. 1948). The possibility of separating the mission in Cape Town from that in Rhodesia is also discussed (31 Oct. 1950). Fr. Clement Neubauer OFM Cap. later referred to the establishment of Cape Town as a ‘separate mission’ and to the appointment of a Regular Superior (25 Nov. 1968). See also CA AMI/2/5/7.
Register of masses at the Church of St. Francis, Kilkenny. The entries include the signatures of the celebrants. The entries were routinely signed by the Provincial Minister at visitations. Monthly totals of masses are also periodically given.
A bound volume titled ‘Pulls of Blacks / January 1953’. The volume contains printed copies of block pulls for photographs and illustrations published in 'The Capuchin Annual'. The volume appears to have originally been used to list names, addresses and amounts subscribed (possibly for the Third Order of St. Francis Sodality, or the Association of Patrons of 'The Capuchin Annual'). The volume includes the following copy prints: • Thomas MacGreevy (1893-1963). • Drawings by Richard King. • Lady Yarrow (from a drawing by Seán O’Sullivan RHA). • Maud Gonne MacBride (1866-1953).

The lists provide information in respect of the names of the friars giving the mission or retreat, the location (with occasional reference to the parish priest), and the date. Several lists are extant in the file. The file includes general mission lists from 1916-9.
