Letter from Francis William Doyle Jones, sculptor, 2 Wentworth Studios, Manresa Road, Chelsea, London, to a Mr. Gallagher, returning the books and photographs which he had sent him. Doyle Jones completed a memorial statue of Canon Sheehan in Doneraile in 1925.

Irish Dancing, Coláiste na Rinne, County Waterford

A photographic postcard print captioned ‘Learning Irish Dancing at Ring College’ (Coláiste na Rinne) in County Waterford. Coláiste na Rinne was established in 1905 and officially recognised as an Irish language summer school in 1907. The principal founders of the college were Pádraig Ó Cadhla (1875-1948), an organiser for Conradh na Gaeilge in the locality, and Richard Henebry (1863-1916), also known as Risteard de Hindeberg, a Waterford-born priest, Irish language scholar and traditional music collector.

Father Albert’s Message to ‘The Monitor’

Printed facsimile of a letter from Fr. Albert Bibby to the editor of ‘The Monitor’ referring to his worsening condition in in St. Francis Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. He writes ‘It is hard to feel that that I may not see dear old Ireland again, or my good mother, sisters and friends there. It would lessen the sacrifice to be laid to rest with Rory [O’Connor] and the boys in Glasnevin’. He adds that he has no bitterness towards his political opponents’. (Volume page 91).
