Charles by having him - not clear whether it was her erring friend or Fr. Charles himself - enrolled as a "perpetual Crusader of the Holy Land in honour of the mosr forsaken souls in purgatory". No sooner had she paid the money (50 shillings) than her long-sought request was granted,
