Correspondence between Dr. H. Katzenberger and +McQuaid regarding a service for German war dead buried in Ireland, the service to be held in Rathnew Cemetery. As the service was intended for all German war dead it would be necessary to conduct a Protestant service at the grave. At the service in 1952 the Protestant minister read his service first, followed by the Catholic priest, thus absenting the priest from being present during the Protestant service. Requests permission for a similar service. +McQuaid cannot see his way to permitting a Catholic exsequial service together with a Protestant memorial service. Suggests a Mass be offered for the happy repose of the souls of the Catholic Germans.
