Other descriptions are clippings taken from contemporary newspapers and magazines. Some texts by Patrick Weston Joyce and Miss K.L. Montgomery. Includes texts and illustrations relating to Kingstown (Dún Laoghaire), Dalkey, Killiney, Bray, Blackrock, Enniskerry, Powerscourt, Poulaphuca, Avoca, Glendalough, Carrickmines, Kilternan, and Drimnagh. Manuscript title to the front cover reads ‘South County Dublin and County Wicklow’.

A file comprising Illustrations on card (of varying sizes) by Richard King. Many of the illustrations are titled or captioned in pencil and all appear to be for publication in ‘The Capuchin Annual’ and ‘The Father Mathew Record’. The illustrations are extant in a leather pouch folder with a gilt title which reads ‘Smoking Room / Ashford [Castle]’.

A file relating to Squadron Leader Edwin Noel Hillman Gray’s request to be received into the Catholic Church. The covering letter is addressed to the secretary of the Capuchin Publications Office in Dublin. Includes a summary of the career of E.N. Hillman Gray ‘Medical Office of Health, Runcorn Urban and Rural Districts / and Medical Superintendent Isolation Hospital, Dutton’. Also includes a photographic print and several character references and testimonials in Gray’s favour. Gray’s covering letter states that his grandfather William Carty ‘was a great friend and worker with the late Father Mathew’. He also suggests that a motion film based on Father Mathew’s life would be desirable from a ‘propaganda’ perspective.
