Income and expenditure account book for the Third Order of St. Francis attached to the Capuchin Friary, Kilkenny. Most of the income was derived from subscriptions (from isolated tertiaries), donations and mass collections. Expenditure entries include accounts for the purchase of devotional manuals, scapulars, and habits for Order members. The accounts were periodically signed by Provincial Ministers at visitations.

Income was principally derived from subscriptions, the supply of habits, cords and scapulars and collections at masses. Expenditure accounts include money expended on masses, washing, cloth for habits, relief for sick members, candlesticks, manuals, and other devotional objects. Towards the end of the volume there is an account of subscription payments by members listed under baptismal names, names in religion, address and record of monthly contributions (1876-1891).

The income entries include monies received from the Association of Patrons of 'The Capuchin Annual' (APCA), advertisements, and the sale of 'Annual' copies. The expenditure entries provide a record of cheque payments. The end pages (pp 373-5) give yearly summaries of cash-on-hand and un-cashed cheques. The entries are routinely signed by the Provincial Bursar and by the Provincial Minister (on visitations).
