Very Rev. John C. Mc. Quaid
Your Grace
I am here until Monday
at the suggestion of my own
Rev. Mother General who is an
would to see what possibilities
there are, if any for our
humble Congregation to recruit
postulants to secure some
small work in Ireland and
to obtain a house here
We are the Sisters of Chambery
a branch of the Congregation
of St. Joseph with our General
House in Rome
Father Daniel Murphy C.S. Sp and
Rt. Rev. Donal Herlihy of the Irish
College in Rome know me quite
well
Apart from the business end
of my errand I would consider
a privilege and a pleasure
to be permitted a short inter -
view. However, I realize what
a crowded program is that
of one in your position, your
Grace and will await your
kind consideration
With every good wish for your
spiritual and physical wel-
fare I remain
Devotedly yours in J.

and for promising to acquaint Mr. Ryan on his return
of the legal requirements
It is difficult to describe my happiness at the thought
that the Sisters of St. Joseph are slowly moving into the
Dublin Diocese under your gracious tutelage. I do regret
that I am not a nurse! Seriously speaking, I could
be frightened and I am humbled Your kindness and
goodness has done that but it has also helped my

Your Grace Imy dear Archbishop
Since I hope to complete my visit in the Limerick Schools to
morrow I plan to return to Dublin on Friday Should
there be any transactions regarding Edenmore I could be
reached either, through the Medical Missionaries (882722)or through
the Murphys (1901127
The following Monday I hope to commence the Schools of
Sligo returning to Dublin Sept 28th or 29th to arrange for
the postulants departure for South Wales At this time
should deeply appreciate an interview your Grace, if you
an spare a wee bit of time. There are two of my own
community Irish Americans who will join me at that time
One is the assistant Matron of our hospital in India
and comes from our large hospital in the Archdiocese of
Hartford Connecticut Since she is very familiar with
the needs of hospitals she would be a great help to me
in studying the plans formulated by Mr Jones The
two saw Edenmore and were very delighted with it.
This really made me very happy!! I would give me
great pleasure if your Face would permit me to present
them to you
After the departure of the postulants I shall have to think
of mine for Rome unless there will be further need of me in
Dublin Neither Mr. Jones nor Mr. O Brien here written but
they are waiting my return,
No day passes but your name finds place in my poor prayers
and I humbly trust that our Divine Lord favors you with some
special graces in return. Your fatherly kindness and interest is
more deeply appreciated and I realize with the passage of the weeks
how privileged we are to be allowed a place in your Archdiocese
With every kind personal wish and humbly begging your
blessing, I remain, my dear Archbishop
Most respectfully
Your devoted I grateful child in M

Your Grace my dear Archbishop,
In my recent letter I overlooked
a very important item It would be
unworthy of me as a child of St
Joseph and yours not to congratu-
late you and humbly thank you
for the honor you gave him on his
first Feast as Worker I was so hap
py to read about the attendance at
the Pro - Cathedral.
Labor has been uniting for years
but now under the Inspiration of
St. Joseph it will achieve those
supernatural goals, and recapture
hose virtues depicted in his own hum-
ble hard working and honest life.
What he will not do for you from now
on. I shall need only to remind him of this
when speaking for your Grace
Kindly pray for hd bless me who begs to remain
Most respectfully in M.

Your Grace my dear Archbishop
Since Rev. Mother General and I should be flying
to Cardiff early Thursday morning, I do want to
offer a very sincere and humble expression of
my appreciation for all you have done and been
not only to me but also to dear Mother General
Her visit to dear Ireland was like an oasis in
the desert and your kindness helped to make it
such.
Your Grace I shall be in Crickhowell where I
can be reached and, from where I can come if
needed for any business connected with Edenmore
Should you be talking to Mr. O' Brien I would
be happy to know what possibility there is
of getting into the smaller of the two houses
I am enclosing the last letter of Mr. Jones
wherein he speaks of the drainage problem
Enclosed ales is Mr. O Brien's last letter to me. I have
heard nothing further but his absence accounts for
this It is very heartening to know that the
tenders will be returned on August 3rd is it
not. Dear St. Joseph well inspire these
builders to be very, very modest in their
estimates. I rely on him
Rev. Mother General told me that she was going
to ask for a photograph not knowing how-
ever how unsuccessful I was, It would
be nice were she able to bring one bask to
France and Rome with her Your Grace,
More than ever I humbly ask your blessing
and prayers because the more I meet you the
more I realize my deepest lack holiness
In the hope that our dear Lord will accept
my prayers with His own and bless you in
return, I beg to remain my dear Archbishop
Most respectfully in M
Your grateful child
