two copies of a leaflet entitled "Notes For Editors And Contributors" prepared by the British Records Association and forwarded to Fr. Evangeist, C.P., by the Irish Manuscripts Commission with letter of 21-04-1960 (see item located at 8/4/5/9 serial no 7146) for his guidance in editing the Kavanagh Journal. A copy of a similar leaflet prepared by the Commission itself had already been forwarded to Fr. Edmund Burke, C.P. and is located at 8/4/5/2 serial no 7139.,

photocopy of an article entitled "An Unpublished Eighteenth Century Franco-Irish Manuscript" published in "Studies (Sept. 1939) by Dr. Richard Hayes. This article contains some interesting facts, such as an explanation as to how Kavanagh came to be ordaind before he had begun his priestly studies, casts some doubt on Kavanagh's strictures concerning one of the superiors of the college at Nantes, Fr. John Walsh, and gives telling information on a Fr. Richard Ferris to whom Kavanagh wrote offering his services so that he could remain in France. This copy of the article was supplied to the archives through the good offices of Gerard Lyons, Manuscripts Department, National Library, Dublin

article from "Wicklow People" entitled "Church of Sts. Michael and Mary" commemorating the centenary of that church situated in Rathdrum. It is of particular interest because of its reference to the statement of the historian Fr. Myles Ronan, that it was Fr. Kavanagh, former parish priest of Rathdrum, who rebuilt the church at Greenane, restored the church at Macreddin and built the church at Clara Vale. Reference is also made to Fr. Kavanagh being the builder of Clara Vale in "Reportorium Novum" copy of which was received from the Archdiocesan Archivist (see item at 8/4/3/13 serial no 7110).
