Dear Archbishop McQuaid
Your Grace
It is with pleasure that I send these
few lines to you trusting that your health is in
good form as they say in Ireland. I know very well
that you have a heavy schedule at this time of
year in particular and I dislike encroaching
on your time but St. Josephs Feast is coming and
I was wondering if you could spare the time
to quietly bless "Our Nursing Home. I shall state my
reasons and they are as follows

  1. We are Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery and in our
Congregation we have special devotion to our Holy
    Father, St. Joseph
  2. March 19 is in a very special way His Feast Day.
3.Our Reverend Mother General in Rome as well as
Mother de Pazzi are very anxious to have the
blessing that day or if that is not possible near
    to that date, March 19.
    TEL. 334766.
    TEL. 334766.
The reason we wish to have it blessed quietly
as little publicity as is possible is because the
nursing Home is not as yet ready to function but
once it has been blessed and can have Holy
Mass celebrated there the Sisters who leave and
are now living in the Gate Lodge will be able to
take up their residence on the third floor of the
nursing Home, and carry on final preparations for
a formal opening perhaps on May 1-1958 Feast of
    St. Joseph the workman
During the past week a very beautiful hand
carved wooden crucifix was sent to us from our
eneralate in Rome, It had been richly indulgenced
by our Holy Father aill well leang in the new
chapel of our Nursing Home which we Americans
are looking forward to with much joy.
We trust you are well and we are looking
for an answer from you at your earliest convenience
assuring you of our deep respect and gratitude for your
kindness to us since have come to Ireland
We are your three adopted American Sisters
    of St. Joseph
