1846034; Houben, Charles: Blessed: Cures obtained through his intercession: packet of documents concerning Mrs. Frances Murphy, 5, Elm Park Avenue, Ranelagh, Dublin, who was cured of blindness after intercession to Fr, Charles. The case was first raised by a Dr.J.F.Power, Sliabh Na mBan, Caremont Road, Ballsbridge, who met her at the grave of Fr. Charles. When he met her again a week later she had been cured. Fr. Gerald O'Boyle investigated the case and discovered that her cure had lasted for three yrears and then paretially returned,

Attendance at Mass is sparce and few receive the sacraments. Fr. Theophane writes in the same vein. The number of irregular unions is referred to. While it would seem that there is work for a legion of priests, little would be gained at present by putting more men on the job. There are 8 schools in the parish. There is a necessity for a trained catehcist. Plans for a church and oratory are in hands. Medical facilities are appaling and the water is bad. On 24 January there were 82 cadidiates for Confirmation..
