All countries are invited to attend and to appoint people who would be able to properly illustrate the activities of Catholic life in their countries. +Levame seeks the advice of the Archbishop on what should be done.

Letter from +Levame to +McQuaid stating that the Sacred Congregation of Religious wishes that all Religious Institutes join in thanking God for giving the Church such an outstanding Pontiff and praying that he may continue to do so for many more years. Copy letter from +McQuaid to +Levame in relation to the celebration of the 80th birthday of the Holy Father. As he was not aware the Solemn celebrations are to take place in Rome on 11 March, he suggests the Votive Mass should be held on either the 2 or 12 March. It would be quite difficult to do this at the Sunday Mass in the Pro Cathedral on the 11 as the masses are every half hour as so many people are in attendance. He could make St. Andrew’s, Westland Row available at 12 o’clock if necessary.

The Sacred Congregation of Seminaries and Universities believe it should be celebrated ‘…with reverential affection’.
