Copy of typed letter to Sean Lemass, Tanaiste, from +McQuaid. The statement in the press by the I.M.A. rejects the free motherhood and infant scheme as proposed in the White Paper. The question is being asked: what is the view of the Hierarchy? The Hierarchy has abstained from comment as the Scheme is being considered by the Government. Asks that the Government will accord full weight to the most serious moral objections that he has brought to the Government.
