Letter from +O’Hara to +McQuaid concerning the anniversary mass for the 300th anniversary of the death of Mgr. Rinucinni. A requiem mass will cause some problems and seeks the Archbishop’s advice. Annotation by the Archbishop suggests Mass on the 8th, the feast day of the Immaculate Conception, and this would cause very little attention.

The following items are mentioned in the report: the inaugural meeting of Trinity College Historical Society which was addressed by Clement Attlee, leader of the British Labour Party. At a IWL meeting George Jeffares spoke of the disillusionment in West Germany with the Western Powers’ muddled policy, German unification, disarmament and increased trade and cultural exchanges between East and West, industrialization of China, and the West’s attitude to Israel and Spain.

Mr. Maloney, Secretary of the Contemporary Club, has resigned. Will be a loss as he kept an eye on liberal speakers. Replaced by Miss Pepita Keating, daughter of Justine Keating. The Communist Party have converted No. 37, Pembroke Road into flats. Are holding meetings in Pembroke Hall. She (Una) refuses admittance, but Art McArdle reporting to her.
