Province Foundations: Diocese of Elphin: PHOTOSTAT of original in Highgate Archives (plus original which seemingly came to these archives afterwards) from Bishop Clancy of Elphin, Bishop's House, Sligo, to Fr. PHILIP Coughlin, Provincial, re a proposed CP foundation at Skaehard (Skahard), (seemingly in the Parish of Loughlynn, Castlerea). PP will not hear of a public church. The land properly worked should support the House. Presently held grazing rights present some difficulty.
Povince: Foundations/Houses; Skehard: letter with PHOTOSTAT: BiSHOP Clancy of Elphinm Hishop's House, Sligo, to Fr. PHILIP Coughlin, CP, Provincial. General has rejected idea of no church, and this Bishop regrets. Thinks that Skahard would make excellent juniorate for a possible Irish Province. (place is as good as Esker (C.SS.R.) and tho' no church there'd be a lot of work.
