Thanks is made for a letter of the twenty fourth instant, and reference is made elsewhere to 20 March 1855. Reference is made to a John O'Hagan who is deceased, and the writer also says 'The solicitor who acted for our fathers in purchasing of this the Burrowes property here is also dead'. The writer also says 'This property was acquired by Reverend John Burns about 1770' and that after his death it was held in trust for his five daughters. Some pages of the draft letters are missing.
Letters from William P McEvoy, Commissioner for Affidavits, 12 Dame Street, to Father Thomas Morrissey CM, Saint Joseph’s, Blackrock, regarding Burrowes property in Blackrock.
Draft letter regarding house property 15, 17, 19 and 21 Matthews Court, Temple Road in Blackrock. Mrs Louisa Forde had land leased to her in 1900 for a term of sixty years. ‘The rent she pays goes to the support of the St Joseph’s College which is a college for the preparation and theological education of students aspiring to the R[oman] C[atholic] Priesthood, which is a charitable object’.
List of stockholdings, showing names of stock companies, number of stock held in each, and value for each. The names are not easily legible, but the final three are National Bank, Hibernian Bank and Great Northern Railway.
List of valuations. The heading of the document is ‘Value of Property proposed to be purchased’ and the names of those as having holdings are Thomas Murphy, Mrs Harney, P Mohan and Serjeant Kelly. The values of rent and rates are given for each person.
