With some loose pages: A list of important documents (title deeds etc) at one time in the St Joseph’s Blackrock safe, an undated typed description of House Property belonging to St Joseph’s, Blackrock, a declaration by a relative of Alexander Grant dated 1883 regarding claims on the property of his late mother, and a page referring to two bequests.
Minutes of Comhlucht Chuilm Cille from 5th May 1957 to 1967, with accounts of two meetings in 1949/50 at the start. It was originally an Irish-language society, but at the meeting of 4 October 1964, the observation was made that 'the present situation was that there was little Irish at the meetings'. The new chairman, Mr Roche, wanted to 'remedy this situation by holding one or two meetings through Irish during the year'. One entry is in Irish, but the rest is in English.
Sacristan’s Book. Requirements for various feasts and ceremonies. The first entry is for Ash Wednesday, explaining how to obtain ashes. Other holy days include: Lent, Laetare Sunday, Passiontide and Holy Week, Palm Sunday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Translation of Relics of Saint Vincent de Paul and Corpus Christi. Also included are funeral arrangements.
Five copies of prospectus for seminarists coming to St Joseph’s. Undated, but after the opening of Glenart, Wicklow, in 1949. Includes clothing and books that need to be brought. Some copies have handwritten or typewritten suggested changes.
