Nessan Shaw OFM Cap.
• A letter to Doran Hurley refers to Fr. Senan Moynihan OFM Cap., former editor of the 'Annual': ‘You will be glad to hear that Father Senan keeps very well and enjoys a life free from worries or the many cares that were his while he was editor. His indomitable spirit persists in flashing good humour’ (1 Aug. 1956).
• A letter to Alison King notes the change of printers from John English to Dollard Printing House. Fr. Henry wrote ‘we are changing our printer this year and going to Dollard’s. I think it will make things much easier to have the work done in Dublin’ (29 Jan. 1957).

Mass Appointment book

Notebook containing a diary of Sunday mass celebrants at the Church of St. Francis, Kilkenny. Includes lists of priests celebrating mass at the Presentation Convent, at the Auxiliary Hospital, at the Maynooth Mission to China and at other locations.

Newspaper Clippings

The clippings relate to the repatriation and reburial of the bodies of Fr. Albert Bibby OFM Cap. and Fr. Dominic O’Connor OFM Cap. in the cemetery of the Capuchin Friary, Rochestown, County Cork in 1958. Some of the clippings also refer to the unveiling of a memorial at the Capuchin Retreat House in Raheny, Dublin, on 14 June 1959. ‘The memorial is a life-sized Calvary in re-constituted stone. It was modelled by Neff Brothers of Cork, and was donated by Mr. Eamonn Martin, former Chief of Staff of Fianna Eireann, an organization in which the two priests were keenly interested’

Newspaper Cuttings Book

Book of newspaper cuttings relating to the Father Mathew Feis. The first page of the volume contains cuttings reporting on the funeral of Fr. Aloysius Travers OFM Cap. (d. 2 May 1957) and the tributes paid to him at the Feis. The remainder of the newspaper clippings cover performances, recitals, and prize winners at the Feis Maitiu. Other cuttings refer to prize winners at Feis Ceoils in Sligo and in Dublin (1957-8). The volume appears to have been originally used a register of members of the Hall (circa Dec. 1920), and as a ledger of books purchased for the Father Mathew Temperance Hall Library (pp 63-9 contains a manuscript ‘list of books received on Feb. 26th 1921’).
