Senan Moynihan OFM Cap.), St. Bonaventure’s Capuchin Hostel, Cork, re the possibility of publishing of ‘Scéal “Sheandúin” in the ‘Sinn Féin’ newspaper. The file includes a copy of MacSwiney’s letter to Diarmuid Ó Murchadha about the matter in which she suggests that the journal would have a ‘wider and possibly more appreciative circle of readers’ in ‘Sinn Féin’. Letter from Terence MacSwiney (Toirdhealbhach Mac Suibhne) to Diarmuid [Ó Murchadha]. The letter encloses a printed notice from John Beresford, 5th Baron Decies, Chief Press Censor for Ireland, asking newspaper editors to refrain from publishing a statement issued by the members of a Cork club of Sinn Féin re an attack on the club by Royal Irish Constabulary (5 December 1917).
Draft transcription (with commentary and notes) of ‘Sgéal “Sheandúin”’ (Tadhg Ó Murchadha). The volume was probably used by Br. Senan Moyinhan OFM Cap. for his serial publication of the text in ‘The Father Mathew Record’ (July 1924-August 1925). Several loose (dated) enclosures and notes are extant in the volume. The first portion of the transcription is dated 10 February 1918. The final dated entry in the volume is 22 January 1922. Some possibly earlier notes and translations of religious texts are present on the opening pages of the volume.

Expenses account of James Joseph O’Kelly. An accompanying note is endorsed ‘account for arms / £206 / expenses to Dublin’. Both the note and the one-page expenses account are endorsed ‘EE 7205’. The expenses relate to O’Kelly’s travel from France to Dublin.
Two letters with initialled signatures. They are possibly related to the Fenian John O’Mahony. One of the notes reads ‘There is strong objection to your “official” proceedings. Perhaps these objections may be overcome but if you want to succeed you must rely mainly on your own “individual efforts” …’. Two numbered notes are also extant in the file: ‘7210 / John (Ryan?) London, 27 Jan. 71 / have seen O’D / settled to meet the people at my place on Tuesday night 31st’ and ‘7196 / list of towns in England, Scotland, and Ireland’.
