A postcard print of a demonstration in Clogheen in County Tipperary in 1898. The demonstration commemorated Father Nicholas Sheehy (c.1728-1766), a local priest who was executed following what were widely believed to be false charges of involvement in agrarian unrest during the Penal Law era.

Albert Bibby OFM Cap. The article reads ‘The association of these two much loved Irish Franciscan Friars with the last moments of some of the men who died after the Insurrection of 1916 was recalled by their presence yesterday. … Father Augustine appealed to the crowds whom his voice could reach to be calm. A letter from Carl Gilbert Hardebeck, 16 Limestone Road, Belfast, to Sir Bertram Windle. Hardebeck refers to the the value of Henebry’s manuscript on Irish music. Hardebeck writes 'Father Henebry, I understand played the Irish pipes and the violin in an inimitable manner, he had also excellent Gaelic, and surely, nothing could fit him better for writing Traditional music'.

A letter from An tAthair Peadar Ó Laoghaire to Fr. Augustine Hayden OFM Cap. referring to a publication of his on Irish grammar. Ó Laoghaire wrote 'The fact is, the thing had to remain so long in Mss. because our friends the Gaelic League would not print it as I would not allow them to re-edit-it! I had to wait until the Irish Book Co[mpany] were in a position to take up the work of printing it. Is it not a comical thing that the Dublin Gaelic League would not allow me to be the best judge of my work!'

Card to Margaret Mary Pearse from an individual in Cork expressing their delight on hearing that St. Enda’s School is re-opening. The signature is indecipherable.

Letter from Aodh de Blacam to Fr. Senan Moynihan OFM Cap. referring to proofs of his forthcoming article on his recent visit to Rome. He also refers to his 'rosaries' from Fr. Henry Edward George Rope. De Blacam concludes 'My patient is marvellously better. I myself lost 1 stone since New Year, not missing it'.

Circular re a general meeting of landowners ‘to take into consideration the administration of the Land Act’. James Hamilton, 2nd Duke of Abercorn (1838-1913) presided over the meeting. The circular includes a list of names of individuals acting as distributors for tickets for the meeting.
