Address to Archbishop Ignatius Persico OSFC (1823-1896) by the tertiaries of Kilkenny. Persico travelled throughout the country from July 1887 until January 1888 consulting prominent members of the hierarchy in relation to the Plan of Campaign and nationalist political agitation.

An address to Fr. Angelus Healy OSFC and Fr. Benignus Brennan OSFC from the members of the Kilcormac Temperance Hall in King’s County (Offaly). The address commends the friars’ temperance mission in the parish.

He bequeaths to his sons John, William and Richard his interest in various properties including those situated at 124 Dorset Street and on Quarry Lane and Bow Street. The dwelling house and premises at 124 Dorset Street is left to William and Richard to carry on the family victualing business. He leaves £300 each to his daughters Maria Ann and Ellen. Agreement from Fr. William Travers OFM Cap., Fr. Edward Bourke OFM Cap. and Fr. Jeremiah Kelleher OFM Cap., Rochestown, County Cork, to Patrick Phelan, coal merchant, Friary Street, Kilkenny. The agreement notes that the Capuchin friars are intending to demolish a dwelling house known as No. 47 Friary (formerly Walkin) Street and erect a new building. Reference is made to the possible inconvenience and disruption which may be caused to Phelan’s adjoining business. The Capuchin friars agreed to pay Phelan £50 as a consideration for his granting rights to enter onto his property for the purpose of erecting scaffolding at the gable end of 47 Walkin Street and for the demolition of the existing boundary wall between the two premises.
