The series comprises publications relating to Saint Francis High School in La Cañada Flintridge which was founded in 1946 by the Irish Capuchin friars. Originally purchased by Fr. Stephen Murtagh OFM Cap., the campus property was formerly the Flintridge Country Club, a regional landmark established in the 1920s. While initially intended to serve as a junior seminary, the Capuchin Franciscans opened enrolment to regional day students at the request of Archbishop John H. Cantwell. Over the decades, the school has evolved into a prestigious all-boys Catholic college preparatory institution.
