Copy will of William Clarke, merchant, Cork, dated 27 Oct. 1818 with nine codicils. The copy was extracted from the Probate and Matrimonial Division of the High Court of Justice, Ireland. The final codicil is dated 4 Oct. 1825. The will and codicils relate primarily to the provision of a legacy/trust for his daughters, Anne Walker and her husband Rev. Thomas Walker. An addendum notes that the said William Clarke, latterly of Kilinalooda Glebe, Cork, died in February 1826 and that his will was proved on 18 Sept. 1867. Letters of administration were granted by the Court of Probate to Sir William Henry St. Lawrence Clarke Travers, 2nd Baronet, 3 Queen’s Gardens, Hyde Park, London, grandson of the deceased residuary legatee named in the said will (referred to as Sir William Clarke).
Lease by John Cotter Wood, 28 Longford Terrace, Monkstown, County Dublin, to William Adams, Queen Street, Cork, of the dwelling house, yard and premises at No. 13 Queen Street, Cork, for 99 years at the yearly rent of £20. The lease has a note attached from John L. Wood (dated 29 Nov. 1894) to the Provincial Bank of Ireland, Cork, objecting to William Adams depositing this lease with the bank. The file includes a note re the desired formula for a declaration to be signed at the reception of converts to the Catholic faith and a sanction for the creation of a young men’s’ sodality at Holy Trinity Church.

Letter from the Most Rev. Charles Joseph O’Reilly (1860-1923), Bishop of Baker City, Oregon, to Fr. Fiacre Brophy OSFC and the Holy Trinity community, referring to his recent visit to Cork, and to the impending arrival of the Irish Capuchins in his diocese. O’Reilly wrote: ‘I have heralded your coming, and all are eagerly expecting you. I will give you the choice of several places which promise well, and you will have missions throughout the state to enable you to get the means to purchase property and build’.
The file includes: • Meeting of the St. Patrick League of the Cross at Church Street. • Reports relating to the solemn triduum in honour of the Blessed Mary Magdalen at St. Mary of the Angels, Church Street ('Freeman’s Journal', 10 June 1901) at which Archbishop William Walsh referred to the continuing disabilities against Catholic religious orders particularly in respect of bequests which have been declared illegal by the courts. • Report on a retreat for the Brothers of the Third Order of St. Francis at St. Mary of the Angels led by Fr. Augustine Hayden OSFC and Fr. Pius Duggan OSFC. The Rosary was recited ‘for the speedy release of the Irishmen who are now suffering in English Prisons’. 'Evening Herald', 6 Nov. 1916.
