James Sr. spoke of + McQuaid’s kindness and courtesy towards him when he was a member of the Commission on Youth Unemployment, and his deep interest in the problems of working-class boys and girls. He had regard for the Archbishop due to his position in the Church, but his wide humanity and his appreciation of the work he and the Labour Movement did.
