Note to +McQuaid regarding the lack of information on the arrival date of the new Nuncio. He believes the 14 October may not be late enough. He has provisionally booked the Gresham for the 14 but has also provisionally booked the last two Sundays in October. Addendum states that the Nuncio will arrive on 6 October and the reception will be held in the Aberdeen Hall, Gresham Hotel on 14 October.

He wishes the report at his earliest convenience. He would also like an outline of the general situation of the seminaries in the diocese and the problems faced in forming present day clergy.
Letter from +McGeough to +McQuaid stating that the Motu Proprio ‘Pontificalis Domus’ of Pope Paul IV provides that, while Chamberlains of the Cape and Sword of His Holiness, should remain, the name would be changed to that of ‘Gentlemen in Waiting on His Holiness’. Don Ferdinando D’Ardia Caracciolo dei Principi di Cursi, who holds this title, lives in the Archdiocese and asks that he be informed of the change.
