The text its titled ‘Anglo-Irish 1913-1921 / Military History / “A” Company / 1st Battalion / Cork, No. 1 Brigade / Irish Republican Army / by Seán Healy, Captain’. The original text is held in the Bureau of Military History (Witness Statement 1479). The volume in this file seemingly has some additions.
A typescript copy of the witness statement given by Henry O’Mara to the Bureau of Military History. The text is titled ‘Days of terror in South Galway’. O’Mara served as a commandant in the East Clare Brigade of the IRA during the War of Independence. The statement covers republican activities in South Galway during the years 1920-21. The original text is held in the Bureau of Military History (Witness Statement 1652). The copy in this file has extensive manuscript corrections and emendations.
