St. Gabriel's Retreat: The Graan: Enniskillen: MS note fromj the Provincial concerning the local chapter to be held before the auction of the nearby farm. Provincial is still anxious about this chapter beig held because of the fear of a leak about our plans for the auction. If the rule is adhered to, it can only bring blessings. It would be early enough to hold the chapter just 2 0r 3 days before the auction.

Price £480, money which would be well spent.. Expense would be met out of current account. (£700) plus £200 expected from Novena. 3) £500 already paid to Donnelly.

Conditions of supply - Graan must use £60 of Electricity each year for 6 years; after that rate will be 3/4d per Unit. Graan provide cable from Transformer to House. ESB will change engines to AC ones. Rector wants to use Electricity for cooking. Permission granted provided Local Chapter Oks. (Doubt about wisdom of changing from coal for cooking)

Colman is not keen on spending money unless the water supply to Graan can be assured. But he will fall in with the opinion of the Prov. & other Consultor if they are agreed; but feels it is necessary to enter this caveat.

Supply of water difficulties at Graan: Local Chapter decided a pump should be sunk. An estimate says cost will be £160, for work listed. Sylvius pleads with Prov. to approve. The firm (English) does a lot of this type of work (3 successful wells locally; and one at Maynooth - a difficult job). Sylvius hopes to pay expense out of £1,000 they hope to save this year.
