Overseas Missions: Vicariate: South Africa: Oblates and Jesuits: Kimberley Vicariate: Copy letter from Bishop Meysing, O.M.I., Vicariate of Kimberley, to the General of the Oblates: being his observations on the General's letter of 19/09/1949 to the Apostolic Delegate and the A. D's reply of 12/10/1949 concerning the Kimberley and Southrn part of Bechuanaland Protectorate. Bishop Meysing takes issue with the apparant determination of the Apostolic Delegate to proceede with the division of the Vicariate of Kimberley within six months to the exclusion of the German Province. He suggests that the General Administration informs the Cardinal Prefect that it adheres to its decision that it is prepared to send some English-speaking missionaries to Bechuanaland next year, and in the event that the German Province is unable to send missionaries to Kimberley in the future, the General Administration will send other Irish Fathers to the Bechuanaland. That being the case, it would then consent to the seperation of the Southern Part of Bechuanaland Protectorate from the Kimberley Protectorate.
