Newspaper clippings of reviews of various editions of 'The Capuchin Annual'. The file includes articles from the 'Cork Examiner', 'Irish Catholic', 'Dublin Opinion', 'Evening Mail', 'Irish News', 'Irish Press', 'The Advocate', 'The Leader', 'Irish Independent', 'Sunday Independent', 'The Corkman', 'The Kerryman', 'Catholic Standard', 'Limerick Leader', 'Connaught Tribune', 'Wexford People', and 'The Electrical Mail; (a publication issued by ESB). The file also includes typescript reviews of the 'Annual' in broadcasts by Radio Éireann in 1961-2. Specific topics and reviews include features on the 1916 Rising (the 1966 edition of the 'Annual'), the Gaelic Athletic Association, Francis Ledwidge, Archbishop Daniel Mannix, and various photographic features in the 'Annuals'. The clippings relate to the repatriation and reburial of the bodies of Fr. Albert Bibby OFM Cap. and Fr. Some of the clippings also refer to the unveiling of a memorial at the Capuchin Retreat House in Raheny, Dublin, on 14 June 1959. ‘The memorial is a life-sized Calvary in re-constituted stone. It was modelled by Neff Brothers of Cork, and was donated by Mr. Eamonn Martin, former Chief of Staff of Fianna Eireann, an organization in which the two priests were keenly interested’

• ‘Evening Mail Centenary Supplement’, 12 Oct. 1961. A photographic supplement commentary the centenary of the first edition of the newspaper. The edition contains references to the Father Mathew Statue on Sackville Street (later O’Connell Street).
• ‘Canal boom helped the Friars’ by D.F. Moore. The article comprises a brief history of the Church Street locality and refers to the historic residences of the Capuchin friars on the street ('Evening Press', 18 Jan. 1962). The article includes a copy of the photographic print of the old Capuchin Chapel on Church Street at CA CS/7/1.

The 'Irish Times' advertisement includes a brief account of the Stewart-Bam ownership of the estate. The 'Sentinel' article advertises a ‘two-day dispersal sale of stock, crop, farming implements’ and other sundries at the Ards Estate farmyard on 19-20 Dec. 1928. The 'Derry Journal' advertisement itemizes the contents of the house (including furniture, oil portraits, silver, linen and ‘an extensive library of books’) which will be offered for sale at a series of auctions from 6 May 1929.

Some of the annotated clippings were loosely inserted into a hard-covered volume (21 cm x 14 cm) which was ink-stamped on the inside cover ‘Catholic Boys’ Brigade, Church Street, Dublin’.
