Photographic prints of Fr. Ronan Herlihy OFM Cap. undertaking a trip to Chobe National Park in Botswana. The prints have been placed in sleeves in a folder which is annotated: ‘A Day in Chobe / April 1983’. The prints mostly show wild animals and river crossings associated with the trip.
Fr. Salvator Maria Corrigan OFM Cap. (1835-1919) standing outside the main door to the Church Street Capuchin Friary in Dublin. The annotation on the cover suggests that this is a poor quality image with the subject blurred and a transparent ‘ghost image’ of another friar captured on the original glass plate.
A photographic print of Fr. Senan Moynihan OFM Cap. (third from the left) and Fr. Gerald McCann OFM Cap. (second from the left) at a social gathering. The identifies of the other individuals in the image has not been ascertained.
A large bound volume with a manuscript annotation on the spine which reads ‘Father Senan & Father Gerald’. The volume contains photographs, newspaper clippings, and ephemera relating to Fr. Senan Moynihan OFM Cap. and Fr. Gerald McCann OFM Cap., editors at the Irish Capuchin Publications Office. It includes images of the sculptural busts of the two friars by Laurence Campbell (1911-2001) and some photographs of both attending various social gatherings. A biographical sketch of Fr. Senan published in the 'Connacht Sentinel' (4 Feb. 1941) is also extant in the volume. It also includes correspondence and ephemera relating to Fr. Senan’s membership of the Mark Twain Society in the United States. The volume is not paginated, and a good portion of the pages are blank.
A photographic print of Fr. Senan Moynihan OFM Cap. with Judge John J. Kelly (first on the right) at Dublin Airport. Kelly was President of the Irish Fellowship Club in Chicago and Chairman of the Chicago National Bank. The individual on the left is identified as a Mr. Fitzgerald. An annotation on the reverse of the print credits the image to the ‘Irish Independent’.
A clipping of an article paying tribute to the editorship and work of Fr. Senan Moynihan OFM Cap. The article was published in the ‘Sunday Independent’ (29 December 1935).
