The volume includes several obituaries for prominent Irish emigrants (both religious and lay) in North America. The file also includes original photographs and ephemera relating to a pilgrimage to Ireland organised by Richard Cushing (1895-1970), Archbishop of Boston, in 1949. The photographs show Archbishop Cushing meeting various political and religious figures, including President Seán T. O’Kelly, Taoiseach John A. Costello, Archbishop John Charles McQuaid, Archbishop John D’Alton, Paul A. Dever (Governor of Massachusetts), and the Capuchin friars, Fr. Senan Moynihan OFM Cap., and Fr. Henry Anglin OFM Cap. Typescript documents and ephemera are also extant in the volume, including material sourced from ‘The Advocate’ (Melbourne, Australia), and ‘The Father Mathew Record’.
