A clipping of an appreciation of the late Erskine Childers by Lily O’Brennan who acted as his personal secretary in 1921. The letter was addressed to the editor of the 'Irish Independent' but the clipping was seemingly taken from the ‘Irish World’ (22 December 1922).

The booklet has a preface by Seán O’Casey and a cover illustration by Harry Kernoff. Hilda Allberry (also known as Hilda Verlin) was part of a delegation of sixteen women from Scotland, England and Ireland who were invited to visit Russia by the Soviet Women’s Anti-Fascist Committee in Moscow. The booklet was published by the Ireland-USSR Friendship Society.
